How are you serving your core constituencies?

The Challenge

Think about the key populations that your organization serves. For each population, write down their main need and describe what your organization is doing to meet that need.

Why do this?

Sometimes, the day-to-day complexities and mundanities of work can cloud the true reason that you are doing your job--to bring essential products and services to those who need them. Realigning your focus on public service can be incredibly motivating.

This task is part of your long-term effort to ensure that your organization operates in the way that best serves your constituencies.

What’s next?

Look back over the list you created at the beginning of this exercise. Were any gaps revealed? Any needs that aren't being addressed, or populations who need more attention? If so, raise the issue at your next team meeting and discuss what can be done to alleviate this oversight.
