How is your communication style serving you in this new virtual world?

The Challenge

If you've recently transitioned from in-person to remote work, think about how your communication strategies have adjusted. If you're used to connecting with your coworkers about important updates in person, how do you share that news now? Have you or anyone else missed an important message?

Why do this?

Communication strategies are just one of the many things that need to be evaluated as we move into a more virtual environment.

Finding what works best for you now (frequency of communication, the method or platform you use, etc.) will save you loads of trouble down the road.

What’s next?

If you're communicating without a hitch, great! But if you've noticed that you're feeling a little more out of the loop, or that important messages sometimes get lost in the ether, consider whether your communication style or the platform you use (e.g., email vs Slack) might be to blame. Ask around, too. Maybe your colleagues would also appreciate an easier way to share information.
