What resources do you need to make your vision a reality?

The Challenge

The next time you come up with an idea you'd like to present to your boss, consider the following questions beforehand and practice your answers: What resources will you need to bring this idea to fruition? Where will those resources come from?

Why do this?

It's exciting when you come up with an idea to improve a process or product. But for your idea to be received well, it's important to present it to the right people in the right way. (By the way, if you noticed that this challenge is similar to another one you've done, you're right. It is! We developed a series dedicated to pitching your ideas, and this challenge is part of that series.)

Being known as a thorough planner--someone who not only has good ideas, but knows how to implement them properly--will increase the amount of influence you have in your organization. People will be more willing to listen to your ideas and dedicate resources toward them.

What’s next?

Make a list of all of the resources you'll need in order to implement this idea (including time!) and next to each resource write down the name a person in the company who could help you source them.
