What will your workplace look like two years from now?

The Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing global crisis has radically changed the way we work. Generate a list of the ways in which your work has changed since the pandemic began. Identify two changes that you believe might have longer term impacts on your business and how your work occurs.

Why do this?

Major disruptions like the pandemic can spark radical change. Keeping an eye on trends and opportunities for improved processes will enable you to identify and capitalize on emerging trends.

Once your workplace moves through its initial response to the crisis, it will move into a recovery phase over the next 18 months or so; new products and technologies will emerge. Maintaining a focus on emerging trends will allow your assumptions about the future to adapt and better prepare you to move through recovery and thrive.

What’s next?

Initiate a discussion with your supervisor about the two changes you identified above and what impacts they might have for your team over the next 12 to 18 months. How does your supervisor's perspective influence your own understanding of possible impacts?
