When was the last time you thanked someone for a favor they did for you?

The Challenge

Take five minutes to handwrite a short thank you note to someone who recently helped you.  Open with a sentence expressing your gratitude, then a sentence that describes how their help made a difference. In the third and final sentence, say "thank you" again and extend an offer to help them in the future.

Why do this?

Take the time to say "thank you" with a handwritten note. When you show your appreciation for someone, you lift their spirits and strengthen your relationship.

Expressing your gratitude in writing reinforces your commitment to working with others toward achieving common goals. It goes well beyond a quick, verbal "thanks!" and creates long-term alliances and collaboration.

What’s next?

Make the commitment now to write at least one thank you note each week for the next month.  Keep the blank notes in front of you for easy access. Add this to your task list so you don't forget to write them.
