Does your team feel psychologically safe?

The Challenge

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is your team's level of psychological safety? Do they feel comfortable disagreeing with each other in a constructive way? Would they speak up if they felt you (or whomever the team leader is) was making a mistake?

Why do this?

Studies have shown that the number one predictor of high team performance is psychological safety.

Teams that welcome differences of opinion are more likely to catch mistakes and promote the best ideas.

What’s next?

Two ways that you can help promote psychological safety on your team are admitting when you don't know something and thanking other team members who bring up different perspectives than yours.
