What are your personal income goals?

The Challenge

Set a goal for what you want your personal income/salary to be five years from now. Be sure to accommodate for increases in cost of living and any major lifestyle changes you anticipate. Aside from salary, how much vacation time do you want to be able to take? What other benefits are important to you?

Why do this?

Plan for success; don't wait for it to come to you. We often don't think about our salary goals unless we are job hunting or up for a promotion, but proactively considering your personal income goals will change your mindset to be more forward-thinking, ambitious, and strategic in your career.

Regularly setting and striving to achieve personal income goals will help you throughout your career. Having these goals will help ensure that you don't become complacent or hit a brick wall in your advancement that would prevent you from living the lifestyle you desire.

What’s next?

Create a high-level map or action plan for how you will achieve your goal within the next five years. What do you need to change or do RIGHT NOW in order to help yourself get there?
